Topographical Surveys

Topographical Surveys

Using the very latest in surveying technology, enables us to collect, process and present the topographic survey information efficiently and accurately.

Detailed Land Surveys

Where remote survey techniques have been used, you can be confident in the accuracy of adjoining property heights and locations. Our management systems ensure all work complies with our quality and health and safety legislation.

Detailed Drawings

Digital information can be provided in either 2D or 3D in file formats such as DWG, DXF and most other system formats that you might require.
Our aim is to provide you with a final product that is exactly what you want and that you can work with.

Underground Utilities (GPR)

To undertake our surveys, we use dual-frequency ground penetrating radar (GPR), to locate and trace services for position and depth below ground including; sewers, gas mains, heating and water, lighting cables, BT telephone lines, other communication cables and traffic signalling cables.

This information can be annotated onto a topographical survey, or in other drawing formats.

Being able to accurately identify the locations of underground utilities is essential for ensuring that construction work can proceed safely.

Boundary Surveys

Boundary surveys are essential for accurately determining the legal boundaries of a property or land. Using the latest surveying equipment, we precisely measure and define the perimeter of your property, ensuring it aligns with legal records and deeds. This service is crucial for property disputes, new developments, or land division, providing clear, reliable information. We ensure that all boundary surveys comply with relevant legislation and offer the results in a variety of formats to suit your requirements.

Measured Building Surveys

How Can We Help?

Following a measured building survey request we initially assess the building structure in order to find the quickest and most accurate method to provide you with a cost effective solution.

Property Floor Plans

Property floor plans can be provided for any building from small residential to larger and more complex premises. All buildings are surveyed using Leica survey equipment, which enables us to accurately measure the internal layout. The level of information shown on floor plans depends entirely on your needs and what you wish to be shown.

Elevations

We can provide you with elevation detail using a reflectorless total station – in conjunction with a laser scanner. The amount of information shown on elevation drawings can vary from basic line work to full architectural detail. We can also provide street scene elevations, which are often now a planning requirement, and these can be done without needing access to the property.

Cross Section Drawings

Cross section drawings can be produced through any part of the measured building survey, and they normally show section information along the cut-line, the position of which can be determined by you so that the section contains all the information you require for your design purposes. Full architectural detail can be shown in elevation behind the section line, showing cornices, architraves etc.

Other Surveys

As well as carrying out Topographic Surveys, Measured Building Surveys and Detailed Land Surveys throughout Manchester, Cheshire and Nationwide we also carry out a range of other tasks.

Monitoring Services – Precise Level Deformation Surveys

A Deformation survey is carried out to determine if a structure or object is changing shape or moving. First the positions of points on an object are found. A period of time is allowed to pass and the positions are then re-measured and calculated. Then a comparison between the two sets of positions is made.

Setting Out

Stakeout, Layout or Set-out: an element of many other surveys where the calculated or proposed position of an object is marked on the ground. This can be temporary or permanent. This is an important component of engineering and cadastral surveying.
